Liverpool plan to agree sale before star leaves on free transfer

Liverpool face some incredibly difficult decisions over the second half of the year. The Reds have some true icons of the team facing exits.

Ibrahima Konate is out of contract, for one, and it looks increasingly as though he'll depart with the end of his deal. Liverpool have been in talks with him for 18 months now without a solid breakthrough.

Andy Robertson is another whose deal will expire. He actually came close to leaving in January, only for the club to decide their depth wasn't strong enough to sanction a transfer.

In the summer, though, Robertson's exit feels inevitable.

And then there's Mo Salah. That's a complicated one.

Liverpool's Mo Salah stance

BBC Sport reports that Liverpool will not want Salah to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2027. It's a strong, strong suggestion that they'll look to sell this summer.

There's heavy interest from the Saudi Pro League for a move at the end of the season. Karim Benzema's move from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal has opened the door incredibly wide for a move to the former.
