DJ Moore didn't specifically have to be the answer, but what he represents was unavoidable. The Bills didn't have a strong enough WR depth chart to support superstar quarterback Josh Allen.

Now they do.

Moore is reportedly coming to the Bills in a trade, report both NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday.

The compensation, per Rapoport, is expected to be a mid-round pick.

The trade can't be completed until the new league year begins later this month, so there's still time to hash out the final details. But it's clear this deal is going to happen.

Moore instantly becomes the Bills' top outside wide receiver, pairing with standout slot guy Khalil Shakir.

There have been other names thrown around, including big swings like A.J. Brown or even Justin Jefferson, but Moore made sense all along.

The 28-year old isn't as expensive as those guys, and the Bears had a surplus that made him expendable.

Moore was originally a first-round pick (No. 24) by the Carolina Panthers in 2018.

He spent five years with the Panthers, catching 364 passes for 5,201 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Moore then spent the past three seasons with the Bears, reeling in 244 passes for 3,012 yards and 20 TDs.

He had 96 catches in 2023 and 98 in 2024 before just 50-682-6 in 2025.

Moore has a bit of resemblance in his game to Stefon Diggs, who Allen had so much success with.

The Bills finally got a guy for Allen to rely on. It was much overdue.
