According to multiple accounts via Twitter/X, ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler stated on Monday evening that the Panthers are among the three finalists still vying for the services of the coveted 27-year-old defender. Per Fowler, Carolina remains in competition with the Cincinnati Bengals and the New Orleans Saints, their NFC South rivals.
General manager Dan Morgan and company kicked off their legal tampering period this afternoon by reportedly coming to terms on a deal with former Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Jaelan Phillips. The pact is expected to pay Phillips $120 million over four seasons, with $80 million in guarantees.
Lloyd, like Phillips, is also in line for a massive contract. The former first-round pick is coming off his first Pro Bowl selection and a second-team All-Pro nod in 2025.
