The NCAA Tournament tips off today, and everybody and their dog(s) has submitted a bracket or 10. Please don’t do that.

Even crazy Karen from accounting is getting in on the action.

She’ll win your pool. Just you wait.

MORE: March Madness teams that are overlooked, underrated and ignored

Anyhow, among the many things that make March Madness marvelous is the wonderful names of various players on certain rosters.

They’re fun to say, and while they’re not preposterously hilarious like Key & Peele’s football bowl game guys, they are good.

Enjoy while you’re watching all 16 games today.

Chandler Bing, Forward, Vanderbilt

Could I be more surprised?

Ben Humrichous, Forward, Illinois

I swear on my last gyro, Humrichous was my pita bread spread.

Michelangelo Oberti, Center, Penn

Morris Catholic #25 Michelangelo Oberti prepares to play West Morris boys basketball in the J.P. Flynn Memorial Tournament in Morristown on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023.

Can the smart 6-10 sophomore someday generate a game considered a masterpiece?

TJ Power, Forward, Penn

Dec 20, 2025; Piscataway, New Jersey, USA; Penn Quakers forward TJ Power (12) looks to pass during the second half against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Jersey Mike’s Arena. Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images

No relation to the automotive industry icon or his associates, but the kid does have a high motor.

Poohpha Warakulnukroh, Guard, UCF

Feb 8, 2023; Wichita, Kansas, USA; UCF Knights guard Poohpha Warakulnukroh (10) drives to the basket during the first half against the Wichita State Shockers at Charles Koch Arena. Mandatory Credit: William Purnell-USA TODAY Sports

I’m not sure how many typos there will be out on the web with this dude’s name, but — Hoo-ah! — it’s gonna be a bunch.

Solo Ball, Guard, UConn

Mar 14, 2026; New York, NY, USA; Connecticut Huskies guard Solo Ball (1) dribbles against St. John’s Red Storm forward Dillon Mitchell (1) during the second half of the men’s Big East Conference Tournament Championship at Madison Square Garden. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images

He must like to go it alone and face one-on-one matchups with the rock in his hands.

Butta Johnson, Guard, Clemson

Morehead State Eagles forward Jon Carroll (4) defends the shot of Clemson Tigers guard Butta Johnson (4) Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, during the NCAA men’s basketball game at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina.

With a name like Butta (actually, Efrem), you know he’s silky smooth.

Federiko Federiko, Forward, Texas A&M

Nov 6, 2025; College Station, Texas, USA; Texas A&M Aggies center Federiko Federiko (33) reacts during the second half against the Texas Southern Tigers at Reed Arena. Mandatory Credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images

Somewhere, Boutros Boutros-Ghali is smiling.

Bukky Oboye, Center, Santa Clara

Jan 8, 2026; Spokane, Washington, USA; Santa Clara Broncos center Bukky Oboye (12) shoots the ball against Gonzaga Bulldogs forward Braden Huff (34) in the second half at McCarthey Athletic Center. Mandatory Credit: James Snook-Imagn Images

His full name is Oluwabukola Oboye, but we like Bukky better.

Winters Grady, Guard, Michigan

Michigan guard Winters Grady (10) looks on from the bench during the second half against Nebraska at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026.

That’s the name of a professor at Michigan, too, right, not just a player?

Mario Saint-Supery, Guard, Gonzaga

Dec 17, 2025; Spokane, Washington, USA; Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Mario Saint-Supery (17) celebrates after a game against the Campbell Fighting Camels at McCarthey Athletic Center. Gonzaga Bulldogs won 98-70. Mandatory Credit: James Snook-Imagn Images

The freshman isn’t super yet, but he looks like he’s on that path. Oh, and the Spaniard is “so polite” as you can see from the video below.

Robbie Avila, Center, St. Louis

Mar 14, 2026; Pittsburgh, PA, USA; Saint Louis Billikens center Robbie Avila (21) drives to the basket between Dayton Flyers guard Bryce Heard (10) and forward Jaiun Simon (3) during the first half in an Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Semifinal game at PPG Paints Arena. Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images

Well, we’re cheating here, but we had to include this goofy great guy who has a slew of awesome nicknames. The NCAA Tournament will be better off with St. Louis winning a game or two just because of him.
