Iowa State was rolling against Tennessee State on Friday afternoon, but that wasn't the main concern for Cyclones fans.

During the first half, All-American forward Joshua Jefferson went down with a nasty-looking left ankle injury.

He didn't land on anyone else. He just found a way to turn his foot in a major way as he came to the floor after attacking the basket.

That's definitely a painful one.

Jefferson hit the floor a couple times, aware that this wasn't a garden variety ankle sprain.

Later in the half, he was shown with crutches, and he was ruled out of the game.

Jefferson is one of the best players in the country, and one of the more unique ones.

Physically, he's a power forward or center. But offensively, he involves himself in every aspect of what the Cyclones are doing.

He entered the NCAA Tournament averaging 16.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

None of those numbers matter much right now, though. All Iowa State wants is to hear that Jefferson is going to be OK and potentially available to play for them sooner rather than later.
