It's no secret that the Washington Commanders are in need of a receiver to help Terry McLaurin in 2026.
With Terry the only legitimate weapon Jayden Daniels has to throw to, there was a thought the Commanders could look to acquire a receiver in free agency, but so far, nothing has transpired.
One name we have heard repeatedly is San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Set to be released by the 49ers due to reports of the franchise not being happy with his ACL rehab, it appears Aiyuk's days are numbered in San Francisco.
But as ESPN's John Keim writes, Washington isn't waiting around for Aiyuk to become available as they search for a weapons upgrade for Jayden.
The Commanders won't trade for him, knowing the 49ers likely cut him at some point," Keim wrote. "But multiple Commanders sources made it clear they're not going to just wait on him and bypass other potential options."

Commanders need upgrades at WR
Washington could wait for Aiyuk, but for a receiver who hasn't played in over a year, how productive are the Commanders expecting him to be?
One would think it would take a decent amount of time to get up to speed. Can the Commanders afford to wait?
Or if someone like Carnell Tate is on the board at No. 7, does the franchise select the Ohio State star and forget about Aiyuk?
All options, it appears, are on the table.
And Washington has made it clear that it isn't waiting on Aiyuk, which is a telling statement in itself.
