Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Student Dies After Colliding With CSMC Road Cleaning Truck

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A 20-year-old college student died in a tragic road accident after his moped collided with a municipal road cleaning truck on Wednesday morning. The incident took place around 11:45 am at Laxmi Colony Chowk on the Mill Corner to Little Flower School road.

The deceased has been identified as Omkar Raibhan Khanse, a second-year BBA student at Saraswati Bhuvan College. According to police, Omkar was returning home after completing his practical work at college when the accident occurred.

Officials said that while passing through Laxmi Colony, Omkar’s moped crashed into a road cleaning truck operated by a contractor working for the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation. The impact of the collision was severe, and Omkar reportedly came under the wheels of the truck, leading to his death on the spot.

The truck involved in the accident belonged to a contractor agency and was engaged in road cleaning work at the time. The sudden incident caused panic among locals in the area, who gathered at the spot soon after the accident.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s cousin, Rohit Khasne, Cantonment Police have registered a case against the truck driver, identified as Shaikh Jamil Shaikh Naser. The driver has been arrested.

Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
