A new name has popped up in the transfer portal with Kentucky interest

· Yahoo Sports

The college basketball transfer portal opens up on Tuesday, and the Kentucky Wildcats will definitely be in the market for some help. They are losing some key players, and need to infuse some talent back onto the roster, so fans can expect several additions. Already, rumors of possible interest from Mark Pope and his staff have popped up, and on Monday, there's a new name in Jalen Haralson.

Haralson was a major recruit in the 2025 class. A 6'7", 220 lb guard out of Indiana, he chose Notre Dame over schools like Michigan State, and the Hoosiers. He was rated four stars by 247Sports and ranked as their number 18 overall player in the class.

As a freshman last season, he was terrific, averaging 16.2 points and 4 rebounds per game. He is very good at getting downhill and scoring around the rim, though he struggled from three-point range. He's also a quality defender on the perimeter who can guard multiple spots.

Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio (subscription required) reported the interest from the Wildcats, though they are sure to have lots of competition. If the Wildcats were able to land him, he would fit as a Otega Oweh replacement, doing a lot of things that he did well.

We will update this story as it develops.
